Mitch Miller, a member of the Franchise Law Committee of the California State Bar Association, has been named co-chair of the subcommittee that will address the issue of arbitration and venue under the CA Franchise Investment Law (CFIL). Presently, franchisors use arbitration to circumvent the venue requirements under the CFIL to make franchisee conduct arbitrations far from California. The subcommittee will be seeking to remediate this hardship.
